Well...what a encouraging result..!
We've had a great run at a couple of the local Show events in the last 2 weeks...!
At the Atherton Show, the premier show on the Tablelands, we won 1st prize for our Rainforest Plum Sauce...2nd prize for our Rainforest Lemon Marmalade and 3rd prize for our Rainforest Lemon Pickle...they really do have good taste here on the Tablelands ..!

Top off the week with a Bronze at the Cairns Show for our Rainforest Plum Sauce (again) and this time a Silver for our Rainforest Lemon Shortbread recipe...!
Not surprising to our many devotees I suppose, as the sauce is always a winner at any of our meals and functions...!
Thanks heaps to the show coordinator Kelly, for being so helpful to us first time competitors..!
Ok later, bush tucker champions..!

The Edge Deli Relish Club event
Margo . - Thursday, May 27, 2010
wow.....still coming down off the high after yesterday evenings event at The Edge Deli
thanks to Loren, Gary and all the team for a wonderful opportunity to showcase our products..!
it was lovely to meet Trish and Frank and enjoy their beautiful produce too
Thanks to all those dedicated Club Relish fans who came along and tried our native fruit condiments...
We know sometimes its a bit daunting to try something that isnt well known and doesnt have a long tradition with our culinary heritage but these indigenous fruits have a long history with Aboriginal people and now we are creating a new chapter of Australian food experience by fusing these flavours with 'Asian' influences. We believe we've created condiments that are just perfect for lovers of creative food everywhere, but especially in the tropical north...!
till next time
kind regards
Margo & Geraldine

Welcome

Hi
Welcome to our first blog...!
Margo here from Rainforest Bounty - one of the partners in our creative endeavor of producing gourmet condiments using our orchard grown australian native rainforest fruits.
Well, we have finally published our new web site
We hope it proves to be useful and is user friendly for one and all
please let us know if theres anything we can improve..!
Our orchards are flush with the new growth of davidson plum flowers and juvenile leaves, after the sensational wet season we have had so far this year (over 2 meters of rain since 1st Jan)
Lots of clusters of young plums are forming and plenty of mature plums are still dropping too, which Manuel (the teenager cassowary) seems to have discovered and is helping himself to (thou Im not sure whether he is a male or female yet) as the neck and head coloring isn't well developed yet..!
Check his picture below....

Does anyone know what the definitive features are to identify a male from a female (other than when the male has chicks which is obvious)..?
Until we know we will keep calling him Manuel..!
We're very excited that he visits our orchard, we have plenty of plums to spare..!
We dont feed him as we know that its important that cassowaries do not get habitualised, its just that our orchard is in the middle of his habitat and range and he obviously appreciates the plantings we have done..!

ok off to pick some now...see ya later
